DEPARTMENTAL REPORTING
Departmental Reporting is defined as information delivered to meet the needs of a single or a small set of departments with similar informational needs. With few exceptions, departmental reports are the responsibility of the department to design and develop.
The Enterprise Business Intelligence Solutions (EBIS) currently supports an infrastructure capable of developing and deploying departmental reports to users. Reporting tools within the Business Objects suite include: Crystal Reports, Web Intelligence (WEBI), Xcelcius and Dashboard Builder. The availability of the Business Objects platform for departmental reporting is dependent on the number of users, the tools that are needed, and the suitability of the underlying database design.
EBIS can also assist departmental reporting in the following ways:
-
EBIS can assess (at a high level) and recommend database solutions on which reporting is dependent.
-
EBIS can recommend reporting tools and an approach depending on the department’s needs.
-
EBIS can assess the compatibility of the department's needs with the availability of the Business Objects platform as a mechanism for developing and deploying reports to departmental users.
